Missing.

I guess today is my catch up day for my blog. Maybe I'll do a little better, (Probably not.) But I've had a lot on my mind in these past couple weeks. I'm leaving to school in 2 weeks, Christmas is here, but no family is.

It's so weird to me. I've always had all of my family here for Christmas, so it doesn't really feel like Christmas to me. My family is spread out all over now and I guess it's just hitting me now that I probably won't see them for possibly a long time. I just feels so empty knowing that my family's not here at a time where family's are supposed to be together. I'm going to miss all the craziness that comes with my family. Kids running around screaming, brothers and sisters speaking louder and louder so they can be heard from across the room, and the biggest thing for me, Christmas Eve. I've always enjoyed doing the Christmas program with my Nathan. We'd always do something together. He'd usually play, and I'd sing.

But I guess all of this loneliness is part of growing up. People grow up, get married, and then have family's of their own. Sometimes I wish we could stay young forever and keep our family together, but then again, I couldn't imagine my life without all of my nieces and nephews (one I have yet to meet) and my amazing in-laws.  For all of you that read this, I miss you and love you all, hopefully I'll see you next year!

Gingerbread House

Ok, so it's not real gingerbread, but it worked for us! I love making gingerbread houses, and I haven't done one in a while. After reading my sister-in-law Jandi's blog, I just got the urge to do one! So Tyson and I went to Walmart, and got all the stuff we needed! And for being graham crackers, I think it turned out A-Ok.

The Finished Product

Voila!

Christmas time

Yes, I know. I haven't written on this thing for almost a month now. But I have been pretty busy working, hanging out, and really just being lazy. But with the month of December comes Christmas and all it's wonders.

One of my favorite things to do is decorate. And I just so happened to be able to decorated two different trees. Our tree, and our office tree. I'm a big fan of not so busy trees. I usually just like the balls, ribbon, and boys. and that's what I did on both trees. I love Christmas. :)

Missing Nathan's Stocking. So sad.
I know. I have great form.

First Attempt.

Today was my first attempt at cake decorating. Now most people don't even know why I would even try that.. but right now I've decided that after I graduated school, I'm going to open my own bakery! I absolutely love baking, so I got the idea in my head, and I've just kind of ran with it. I've been trying to bake different things that I could use, and today I tried the decorating.

This was an extremely long process because you have to bake the cake, then make sure it's cool enough to put icing on it.. so on and so forth..

So here's the finished project.. It's not much. But it's a start! Soon I'm going to try doing fondant, which opens up a whole new world to cake decorating!

(can you tell what it is?)

I'M 19!!

I'm officially 19! And does it feel any different???? Not a bit. But, that doesn't mean that it wasn't an awesome birthday! It started off by me putting in a couple hours of work, and then I was supposed to import some data for a local Real Estate agent. But after about an hour of working on that, he called and said something was wrong with the program. So I went and took the laptop to him, went tanning, visited Angie, and then came home and started getting ready for my date with Tyson. He kept the whole thing a secret, so I had no idea what we were going to do.

6:00 came around and he pulled up to my house with a 200 bud bouquet of flowers, and then we went to dinner at my favorite place.. Fiesta! :)  after Fiesta, I realized that he had this blanket pinned up in his car blocking my vision from the back seat. He kept telling me not to peek, so I didn't.

We drove up to Nampa, where we were looking for the Civic Center, (mind you I still had no idea what we were doing.) We eventually found it and as I see all these people here and they're taking tickets I have no idea what we're doing. So after standing in line for a while, he finally told me that we were going to watch the BYU Ballroom dance team.. It was so awesome!! It make me want to do the Cha Cha, the Rumba, the Jive, and every other dance they did!!

We drive home, and he takes me to the park where I finally get to see what's in the back.. When I open the back door, I see the whole seat covered in balloons and the whole back is decorated like a birthday party! He had bought a personally brownie cake type thing that was absolutely delicious, put a candle in it and sang happy birthday to me! Finally he gives me my present, and it's an adorable Pea-coat that I saw at X-helo in Ontario and fell in love with!! It was an awesome birthday and I had an amazing time!!

Fall time!

I absolutely love fall. I was sitting in my office at work and we had the door open. I was doing some work on the computer when all of a sudden a wind of fall air came in and I was so excited!! It felt like fall, smelled like fall, so I just assumed IT WAS FALL!!

One of my favorite fall activities of all time is pumpkin carving. Now I know it's a little early to carve, but I just couldn't resist!! I finally got one of those pumpkin carving kits, and let me tell you what! They work!!! I was so excited especially when it was all done!

Big Nasty

So I know what most of you are thinking. What in the world is the Big Nasty?? It's actually a huge motorcycle hill climb that comes to Big Willow every year. Riders from all over the country come and enjoy the white trash that comes out.. oh, and the hill climb. ;)

But I had never been there before and neither had Tyson.. so he decided to get tickets for it, so we went! It was so hot that I felt like I was going to pass out, so we actually went and sat in the car, which produced these pictures.. :) (And the video is of the Metal Mulisha, a group of teenage riders that are awesome riders... but we never caught the back flips they were doing.. )

Enjoy!

So really..

My life has not been that interesting lately, which is why I haven't had a post for a little while. But this weekend I had such a blast. To start things off, one of my best friends ever, Trenna, came back into town. She's been at Weber State, and I've missed her dearly..

So this is what happened. We go to the football game: Weiser vs. Payette. It was Weiser's homecoming and I also knew almost all the girls on the court. Needless to say, it was a fun night spending time with all of them.. but the craziest thing happened.. After 32 years...

PAYETTE BEAT WEISER!!!!! The Payette fans went crazy, and the Weiser fans seriously acted like someone has died.. and I just happened to be sitting on Weiser's side, so I couldn't cheer too loud.

I called my mom to tell her the big news. I was whispering so that no one would hear me, and my mom would NOT believe me.. I thought I was going to be on the phone for hours trying to convince her.. but she finally believed me.. thank goodness!! :)

check out the story here..

It was awesome..

then the rest of the time was spent with me and Trenna and a few other friends having a good time and catching up!

She left on Sunday and I miss her already! Love you Trenna!!

We tend to take weird faced pictures!

And the verdict is........

I'm going to the "Burg" in January!!!!! :)  So last you heard, I was still waiting around to hear what track I was going to be on for BYU-I, and so this past week I found out that I'll be going there the Winter/Summer track.. It's going to be freezing!!! But I guess it's a good thing that I'm a big fan of coats, sweaters, and scarves!

I thought I'd include a picture of some of the kids up there during winter so you get an idea of what it's like there!

Ok, so I just found those images on the internet.. but I'm pretty sure they're not as unrealistic as they may seem.. haha.. :)

Trip to the Zoo!!

I absolutely love the Zoo. I always have, and I'm pretty sure I always will! I've been to a few different zoos: San Diego, Milwaukee, and the only one really within driving distance, the Boise Zoo!!

So, about a week ago, Tyson and I were having the hardest time figuring out what to do. Both of us are pretty indecisive which makes for a hard time planning different activities. (Neither one of us cares what we do, so it's almost like pulling teeth for us to make decisions.) Anyways, so I was spending hours trying to think of something fun we could do. So I chose the zoo, inexpensive, yet strangely exhilarating!

We had the funnest time there, (yes.. I know, funnest isn't a word), except for the fact that the animals that I wanted to see the most weren't there. The big ones: Hippos, elephants, lions, the African animals. Well we found out that they were actually redoing the habitat for all those animals, so they wouldn't be there until October. So we were left looking at smaller ones, and yet, I still had a blast..

I think the funnest part was seeing the tigers pretty up close and personal, and then of course the photo shoot!!

(Here's a sneak peak of our day at the zoo!)

Lions..

and elephants..

and gorillas...

OH MY! ;)

On the way home..

Once again...

Yes, I know. Once again I’ve totally gotten behind in the whole “blogging” scene. So once again, I’ll have to update you on everything that’s been happening.

1.    You’ll laugh, but I finally gave up my title as “Miss West River Valley.” I also gave my last clogging performance and blew people out of the water!!! (That’s my opinion of course!) But it really was a bitter-sweet moment. I enjoyed all the events and opportunities that I had, but it’s definitely a different world. I will miss all of the people that I’ve met throughout this whole thing, but I hope that it won’t be the end of the friendships that I’ve made.

2.    Our whole family came to visit. I had such a blast. I love when my family comes into town because after a while, I really do start to miss them, even if they drive me absolutely crazy while they’re here!

3.   We had our Oxnam family reunion, which was quite the shindig.. I got to see family that I haven’t seen in over two years, and it was awesome to catch up! One of the highlights through this whole time was when I beat everyone in horse and was the reigning champion over EVERYONE! Yep that’s right, I beat all the guys in the competition. It was grand!

4.   I started my new job at a chiropractors office, which I absolutely LOVE! I feel so at home there. I enjoy going to work everyday there, and enjoy all the people that come in.. :)  And for those of you who would like to know how I answer the phone.. here it is. "It's a fantastic day at Alpine Family Chiropractic, this is Kaytlin.."  I know right? hah..

5.   Something else that’s new is my new guy Tyson Roberts. (Yes, like the chicken, my mom thinks that’s funny for some reason) but anywho, we actually met through his sister that I was pretty good friends with. He came back from BYU-I, we went on a date to the rodeo, and things just clicked and we’ve been dating a little over a month now!

6.   And for the BIGGEST news.. I got my acceptance letter to BYU-I!!!! So contrary to what my last post said, things in my life are coming together and I couldn’t be happier! I don’t know what track I’ll be on yet, but should be finding that out in a week or so!! And I'll hopefully be staying at Autumn Winds, (following in my sisters shoes). :)

Seriously, how cool is it going to be for me to see this EVERYDAY!

So that’s just a little wrap up of what’s happened in the past few months that I’ve been away! But like I said, things are started to fall into place and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me!!!

(And excuse the pictures, they're not the best, but they're all I got!)

It's been a while..

So I haven't been the best of keeping my blog up to date.. so I have a few things that I have to cover..

First off, this past weekend I was able to spend some time with my Derrick, Kim and the girls.. and that was a good time.. My mom, myself and Kim all tried belly dancing and realized that it's harder than it looks.. Especially the snake arms. :)

After a night with them we went and celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday! It was a lot of fun, and I met family I had never met before, and saw other's that I've haven't seen since I was little. I was able to play some guitar with my cousin Tim, and caught up with family members.

Since I've been back, I actually had a job interview at a physical therapy office in this area, that I'm really hoping I get. That's what I want to go into, and this would give me a great opportunity to get my foot in the door.

And as for the rest of the week, it's been filled with pageant stuff.. Today (since I'm writing this past midnight) is our local pageant where I will wear my crown for the last time. But I'll more about that with a different post and pictures.

But lately for some reason, I just can't seem to get my ducks in a row. I don't know what's going on with me. I'm hoping that it's just kind of a short term problem and that it will all go right after a while. But for those of you who are wondering what I plan on doing, I'm going to go to TVCC for my first year and then I will be transferring (most likely) to the University of Utah. They have a great physical therapy program there, and that would be my reason for going.. I've always wanted to go to BYU-I but we'll see what happens.. if U of U doesn't work out, then that's where I will most likely be attending.

Hopefully I've covered most of the bases, and I'll be back with pictures of the pageant!
