Valentines Day..(Weekend)

So my roommate Stephanie, Tyson, and I all decided that over the long weekend, we were going to head home. Unfortunately, my parents were in Denver so I didn't get to see them, but we still had a great time!

We headed home on Friday and luckily the drive wasn't too bad. Steph and I both did a lot of homework (so we didn't have to do it over the weekend), and we all just talked. We wanted to make sure that we capture the events that happened, so luckily I have quite a bit of new pictures!

Rocking out to Bohemian Rhapsody

Quick.. Take a picture!
Steph getting a taste of Royalty
Valentines day morning was so cute. Tyson had come over early and had set up a two trails of chocolates, one for Steph and one for me. Me being the nerd that I am actually ended up following Steph's trail and found some chocolate and flowers. Then I read the card and realized it said Happy Valentine's Day Stephanie. (Whoops) So I went back out and headed to the other trail. At the end it also had a beautiful bouquet of flowers and really, really good chocolates. It was so nice of him to get BOTH of us stuff, since Steph didn't have a significant other. :)

I then made pancakes for everyone. Steph's was a huge pancake with raspberry chocolate chips, Tyson's was a heart pancake with peanut butter and red strawberry jam, and mine was just a little Mickey Mouse with good ol' butter and syrup.

We also all decided that we were going to get our hair cut while we were down. I cut off about 3 inches and got bangs, Steph got a trim and dyed her hair dark brown, and Tyson also just got a little bit of a clean up. Before we left, Steph was looking for her phone in Tyson's car. She had him call her phone and we kept hearing the ringer but couldn't find it anywhere. All of a sudden, Steph starts to head to the towards the garage, and all of a sudden she starts cracking up laughing. She went to the garbage can and opened the lid. And there was her phone. It had gotten mixed up with stuff she had thrown away, and it had been there all night. Tyson, being the nice guy he is got it for her. :)

New Hair for Everyone!

(Tyson was chewing his gum)

We headed of to Fiesta Guadaljara ate some good food, and then headed off to Boise. We had to go find some church clothes to wear because I was supposed to be wearing a skirt that Steph was bringing, and come to find out, she had forgotten it, so I had no church clothes. But it all worked out because she got this really cute new dress from Downeast, and it was so comfy!

Steph's First Fiesta!
After shopping, we headed over to a tennis tournament to watch my brother Cameron play. His partner was a little full of himself, but they won and it was really fun to watch. And I just so happened to have the school's camera, so I was able to get some cool shots. :)

Overall the weekend was full of relaxation and watching movies. I'm so glad that Steph was able to come home with me, because now she kind of sees where I come from. :D

Break..

I know.. I said i would be better at keeping this thing up, but hey, I'm at college now. I have people to see and stuff to do. But I'm on a break from class so I decided I'd catch up on a few things.

1. I absolutely LOVE my roommate Steph. She's from California, and her and I are so close.. It's awesome..

2. So far, I haven't had too much homework, so I'm soaking that all in, and hoping it lasts. (I know it won't)

3. It is so freakin cold here it's ridiculous. I stepped out of my apartment today and it about killed me Luckily this is the day that I've bundled up the most. It is -18 degrees here. Are you kidding me? And I'm walking in it? I really wonder how anyone convinced me that I should come here.

No, it's awesome here, and I"m really glad I came here. People are awesome, and it only takes me 15 minutes to get anywhere on campus! Unless I sip and fall, which I have done, but only once.

So Jandi, here you go. I updated it. :D  and thank you SOOOOO much for that package.. everything was awesome, and the vinyl looks amazing. :D

Missing.

I guess today is my catch up day for my blog. Maybe I'll do a little better, (Probably not.) But I've had a lot on my mind in these past couple weeks. I'm leaving to school in 2 weeks, Christmas is here, but no family is.

It's so weird to me. I've always had all of my family here for Christmas, so it doesn't really feel like Christmas to me. My family is spread out all over now and I guess it's just hitting me now that I probably won't see them for possibly a long time. I just feels so empty knowing that my family's not here at a time where family's are supposed to be together. I'm going to miss all the craziness that comes with my family. Kids running around screaming, brothers and sisters speaking louder and louder so they can be heard from across the room, and the biggest thing for me, Christmas Eve. I've always enjoyed doing the Christmas program with my Nathan. We'd always do something together. He'd usually play, and I'd sing.

But I guess all of this loneliness is part of growing up. People grow up, get married, and then have family's of their own. Sometimes I wish we could stay young forever and keep our family together, but then again, I couldn't imagine my life without all of my nieces and nephews (one I have yet to meet) and my amazing in-laws.  For all of you that read this, I miss you and love you all, hopefully I'll see you next year!

Gingerbread House

Ok, so it's not real gingerbread, but it worked for us! I love making gingerbread houses, and I haven't done one in a while. After reading my sister-in-law Jandi's blog, I just got the urge to do one! So Tyson and I went to Walmart, and got all the stuff we needed! And for being graham crackers, I think it turned out A-Ok.

The Finished Product

Voila!

Christmas time

Yes, I know. I haven't written on this thing for almost a month now. But I have been pretty busy working, hanging out, and really just being lazy. But with the month of December comes Christmas and all it's wonders.

One of my favorite things to do is decorate. And I just so happened to be able to decorated two different trees. Our tree, and our office tree. I'm a big fan of not so busy trees. I usually just like the balls, ribbon, and boys. and that's what I did on both trees. I love Christmas. :)

Missing Nathan's Stocking. So sad.
I know. I have great form.

First Attempt.

Today was my first attempt at cake decorating. Now most people don't even know why I would even try that.. but right now I've decided that after I graduated school, I'm going to open my own bakery! I absolutely love baking, so I got the idea in my head, and I've just kind of ran with it. I've been trying to bake different things that I could use, and today I tried the decorating.

This was an extremely long process because you have to bake the cake, then make sure it's cool enough to put icing on it.. so on and so forth..

So here's the finished project.. It's not much. But it's a start! Soon I'm going to try doing fondant, which opens up a whole new world to cake decorating!

(can you tell what it is?)
